Lor-mai-gai price hit 26-year high

PETALING JAYA, Malaysia — Happy Mansion Block C R.A. representative Chicken Rice James said Wednesday that recent fuel price hikes may push price of lor-mai-gai in his shop above RM2.80 in June, and the highest in 26 years. The last time he increased the price of his lor-mai-gai was just a few months ago.
The government says price of lor-mai-gai may the RM3.00 barrier this year after the fuel cost increased to RM2.70 per litre. Inflation is expected to remain elevated until early next year due to higher fuel prices and electricity tariffs, before moderating in the second half of 2009.
