More than 200 local bloggers and over 100 from Asia are expected to attend Blogfest.Asia at Wawasan Open University in Penang from Oct 1 to 3.

Blogfest.Asia committee chairman Khor Khan Khai said Penang was chosen for its unique culture, heritage and friendly people. It was held in Hong Kong last year.

“In April 2009, Oracle announced that it had agreed to acquire Sun. Since Sun had acquired MySQL the previous year, this would mean that Oracle, the market leader for closed source databases, would get to own MySQL, the most popular open source database.”

There is worldwide campaign to keep MySQL free and open. Please go to this page, read about the issues and sign the petition to save MySQL from corporate take over.

Don’t know how open is the open sourced Flex. But it is pretty impressive with such simple implementation. This is my second book on Flex. I wished I have more time to read. 🙁

AS3 is over. Great to meet some AS2nauts in AS3. For those AS2nauts who were not there, I miss you all. And thanks Handoko for the coffee exchange. And Myra, Jerome, Diane and Joanna for the gift pack full of sweet Pinoy love. Not forgetting Ela’s picture frame fridge magnet, and the great smile of AS2nauts during AS3. I love you all.
