Then…

February 14th… It’s the birthday of a uni classmate, Mr Kua Sang Ngor, the hopeless romantic.

It happens that I also have two more uni classmate who are celebrating their birthdays on 12th Feb and 13th Feb respectively. I can still vividly remember those round-the-clock birthday celebrations when I was in school. But nothing beats the story of Kua Sang Ngor.

Mr Kua Sang Ngor’s surname is not Kua, nor his name is Sang Ngor. He is one of those who pronounces D as L, L as D, R as L and L as R. You see… there was once he was asked to book an apartment in Genting Highlands for our class trip.

When we were at the reception counter, he said:”I am you fong kua sang ngor. We wang to check-in. Book oledi.”

The receptionist checked the records and replied with a puzzled look: “Sorry Mr Kua Sang Ngor, your name is not on our records.”

We were all laughing out really loud… Apparently, our friend wanted to say: “I am Yu from Kuala Selangor. We have made a booking and would like to check-in.”

After a short exchange of words, the receptionist finally found Mr Yu’s record and we managed to check-in.

That’s the story of Kua Sang Ngor who’s birthday is on February 14th.

Now…

No, I didn’t want to order the Dunkin’ Donuts Boy Friend Girl Friend Valentine’s Set. Coffee Donut Combo number 1 sounded just nice.

Everything in the SM Mall was Valentined… from fast food to whatever that you can think of. Pinoys are more romantic than Bolehlanders… they actually buy flowers for their love ones in the mall. Perhaps the Bolehlanders don’t wanna spend RM15 for a stock of red rose during Valentine’s Day. Inflation mah… Semua harga sudah naik oh!

After having the Coffee Donut Combo number 1, Claire and I jumped into the cinema to watch the Jumper. A rather cool movie. But the Star Wars poster boy still needs to attend acting school. But Claire said as long as he is handsome, he will be forgiven for not good at acting.

I seriously recommend the management of the SM cinemas to educate their staffs that a digital SLR camera cannot record video. Even the best digital SLR in the market will not be able to take 24 frames per second. If I really wanna pirate Jumper in the cinema, I would bring a video cam, not my Nikon D100. Duh!

That’s the story of my February 14th this year… the year of Rat.
