of Rain and Sun, Artiste and Writer

As far as the weather here in Mindanao is concerned… it is like love and hate. When it is not raining it is freaking hot. If it is raining, I won’t be able to take any photos. And another problem is… The weather is unpredictable.

However, we managed to get to the organic farm that Claire was talking about. Took some shots when it was sunny and in between the rains. We have to thank Betsy and her staff for hosting our stay and showing us around. The fresh lettuce and cucumber were the best I ever had.
It is easy to tell if a person is an Artiste or a Writer. After the rain, if the person says: “See the sunlight coming down from the sky? I would like to experiment shooting the lights coming down onto the plants. That must be really wonderful.” Just when you want to lend your camera to the Artiste, he/she would say: “No. No. No. I will stand under the light and you take my picture.” That’s an Artiste. Not only that, an Artiste is also free flowing, liberated from planning and letting things to unfold themselves. He/she can be your burning sun shine or your worst rainfall.
On the other hand, a Writer would simply say: “Can you take a picture of me?” And of course, a Writer would take out his/her notepad to jot down important information and ideas for his/her writings because an essay does not unfold by itself, neither the rain nor the sun has anything to do with the unfolding.

Don’t worry Claire, you’re not an Artiste.

You are a Yoga fit writer…

hahaha. thanks sam.
