“I will defend the supremacy of the Malays until the last drop of my blood if I win the mandate of the delegates to become the next Umno president at election to be held in March 2009. This is the solemn promise I made to my late father before he died,” Najib said.

Low Cost Web Presence & Distribution

The cheapest way to distribute your video content online is via podcast. Podcasting allows people to download your video files and copy them to their video players or share them with their friends. To start podcasting, you must:

  1. Get a web host with a cool & easy to remember domain name.
You should be able get a hosting with a domain name for USD50 to USD100 a year with adequate hard disk space depending on your location. If possible, please get a hosting company that you can knock on their doors when there’s any technical hiccups. Get a host that provides cPanel with Fantastico Deluxe. With that you can install software needed for your podcast station without any help from geeks.
  2. Install a blog.
Use Fantastico Deluxe to install a blog that will provide a RSS feed with your video links. I personally use a free and open source blogging platform called WordPress. WordPress is free and easy to use. You can easily find hundreds (if not thousands) of templates and plug-ins that will fit your requirement.
  3. FTP your video
Video files are huge. So, WordPress will probably prohibit your from uploading your video files via its administration site. It is more advisable to FTP your files to your web host. I normally will create a “media” folder at the web root directory of the web host to store my video files. Therefore, I can create a link to the video file easily later such as “http://mydomainname.org/media/myvideofile.mp4”.
  4. Start Posting.
Once you have FTP-ed the video file, you may start writing blog post for your videos. Remember, one post for each video. With WordPress, you may categorise your videos too and it will pick up the information of each post and generate an RSS feed for others to pick up and download your video files.
